Learn n8n from YouTube in 7 days
n8n lets you connect apps and AI models into workflows you design on a canvas, and you can run it yourself. It is powerful, which is also why beginners stall: nodes, triggers, JSON and agents arrive all at once. This week takes them in a sensible order. You build a first workflow and a first AI agent, learn the node types that cover most cases, receive data with a webhook, then add the habits that keep workflows maintainable: sub-workflows and error handling. You end with an agent connected to a messaging channel.
Day 1 free. No credit card.
What you’ll have at the end
- A working AI agent workflow you built and can explain.
- A webhook that starts a workflow from outside n8n.
- A sub-workflow and an error workflow, so your automations are easier to keep running.

Who it is for
For: Makers and operators who want to automate work with AI, and are comfortable following technical steps.
Not for: Anyone who wants a no-setup tool; n8n needs an account or an install.
Your 7-day program
One video a day, about 111 minutes of video in total, and one thing to make after each.

Day 4 — How do webhooks start a workflow?
Webhooks let another system call your workflow. Create a webhook trigger, call it from your browser or a request tool, and make the workflow respond with something useful. Watch the marked part of the video.

Day 5 — How do sub-workflows stop you copying logic?
Sub-workflows let you build a step once and call it from several workflows. Move one repeated step of your own into a sub-workflow and call it from two places.

Day 7 — How do you connect an agent to WhatsApp?
A step-by-step build of an AI agent that answers messages on WhatsApp. The marked part covers the build, and it needs an extra account, so if you cannot connect WhatsApp, run the same agent from the chat trigger and note what you would still need to add.

FAQ
Do I have to host n8n myself?
No. You can use the hosted version or run it yourself. The videos mostly work in either, and the day's task only needs a workspace where you can build and run a workflow.
Do I need to code?
Not to start. You will see some JSON and a little expression syntax, and the lessons explain them as they appear.
How is n8n different from Zapier?
Both connect apps. n8n gives you a visual canvas with more control and can run on your own server. Zapier is simpler to start with. The Zapier path is a good one to compare.
Which AI model do I use for the agent?
The videos show how to connect a model with an API key from a provider. Use whichever one you already have access to, and keep your keys out of anything you share.
What do I submit as proof?
A screenshot of the workflow canvas and its result, or the exported workflow, for each day.
