Guide
Hours are not skill
The playlist adds up to eleven hours. You tell yourself you are “doing CapCut”. That is watch time. It is not skill.
Skill is the file you can send without opening YouTube again. Time in the player is the cost. It is not the result.
Hours
- Sum of durations
- Looks like effort
- Easy to inflate
- CPD likes this number
Skill
- Repeatable without the video
- A named output
- Visible to someone else
- Gets faster the second time
What hours are good for
Knowing the pile is too big. If it is 11 hours at 20 minutes a day, that is more than a month of watching. That is useful maths. It is not training.
Where it breaks
You chase more hours to feel serious. You avoid the 20-minute export because it might look bad. The hours keep growing. The folder stays empty.
Side by side
| Hours | Skill | |
|---|---|---|
| Measure | Duration | File |
| 7 days | ~2.3 hours at 20 min | 7 proofs |
| Fail | You watched less | You cannot export |
| Tool | Playlist hours | Deposit proof |
Do this tonight
Add the playlist up. Write the days at 20 minutes.
Then ignore that number. Export one file in 20 minutes.
If you cannot, the hours were never going to help.
Common mistake
Putting “12 hours CapCut” on a CV. Put the three cuts instead.
