Learn Figma from YouTube in 3 days
Figma is the tool most teams use to design interfaces, and its first screen can feel like a lot of panels for very little. This short path skips the tour and goes straight to the three skills that unlock the rest. On Day 1 you build a reusable component with variants, so one button can be default, hovered or disabled. On Day 2 you connect screens into a prototype you can click through. On Day 3 you learn the pen tool, so you can draw your own icons and shapes instead of hunting for them. Each day ends with something you built in Figma, so after three days you have a small design system, a working prototype and a vector you drew yourself.
Day 1 free. No credit card.
What you’ll have at the end
- A button component with variants that you can reuse on any screen.
- A clickable prototype of a short flow, ready to share.
- One icon drawn from scratch with the pen tool.

A Figma file full of one-off shapes, nothing reusable and nothing clickable.
Who it is for
For: Beginners who want to design interfaces or prepare assets in Figma.
Not for: Designers looking for design systems at scale or variables, which a longer path covers.
Your 3-day program
One video a day, about 55 minutes of video in total, and one thing to make after each.

Day 1 — How do components and variants work?
Components are the reusable pieces of a design, and variants let one component take several states. Build a button component with at least three variants, for example default, hover and disabled, then place it on a screen twice in different states. Change the component once and check that both copies update.

Day 2 — How do you prototype a flow?
Prototyping connects screens so that a design can be clicked through like an app. Design three simple screens for one flow, such as a sign-up, connect them with interactions and transitions, and play the prototype in present mode. Share the prototype link as your proof.

Day 3 — How do you draw with the pen tool?
The pen tool and vector editing let you draw shapes that no library has. Draw one icon from scratch with anchor points and curves, edit its points until the shape is clean, and save it as a component you could reuse in yesterday's design.

FAQ
Why is this path only three days long?
The catalogue's beginner Figma path is three days. Longer Figma paths exist for people who already design, so a week-long beginner path is not available yet.
Do I need a paid Figma plan?
Components, variants, prototyping and the pen tool are part of Figma's free plan at the time of writing. Check your plan if a feature in a video is not on your screen.
Do I need design experience?
No. The path assumes you have opened Figma once, and each day asks for one small thing to build with the tool, not a finished product design.
What do I submit as proof each day?
A link or a screenshot of what you made: the component set on Day 1, the prototype link on Day 2 and the vector icon on Day 3.
What should I learn after these three days?
Auto layout and variables are the usual next steps, followed by building a small design system. The related paths below cover neighbouring design tools.
